You've told your girlfriends. You've made the appointment...now you just need to figure out what the heck you're going to wear during your boudoir shoot. Where do you start?
Picking your clothing can be tricky and sometimes daunting, especially if this is outside of your comfort zone, as it usually is. To help you out, I have put together a few outfit tips and little boudoir 101 for ya.
What to bring
You'll want want to bring about 8-10 outfit choices to your session with Lisa Gallant Photography. We will shoot about 4 looks, but it's always best to have options.
My #1 suggestion for EVERYONE is bodysuits. They look great in photos, and you can usually find a good selection at shops like H&M and Forever 21.
Bring at least 1 KILLER bra and panty set.
If you're self conscious about your middle section, shape wear is Perfect. Fitted items are more flattering. We want to show off all of your curves.
When choosing corsets, stick with those with a sweetheart neckline. Those that are straight across the bust line will flatten out your girls, not flatter them. And we do not want that!
Thigh highs and garter belts look amazing on camera. Make sure to purchase stockings that are not opaque. You want sheers, with non-reinforced toes.
Bring AT LEAST 2 pair of high heels ( skin tone and black). Avoid shoes that buckles across the ankles. It can make your legs look shorter.
Steal from your partners closet. If this is a gift, it's always nice to bring a little something of
theirs to incorporate into the session. For example, a favorite shirt, hat or tie all work really well.
Not so much for fancy lingerie? The casual look is really popular right now. oversized sweaters and pretty cheeky panties make for a great look.
Bridal veils, garters and corsets work great if you are planning on having a bridal boudoir session.
Accessories! don't forget those! Make sure to pack necklaces, earring, and bracelets. We can always opt to not use them, but it's better to have them at hand in case.
Lastly, props....If there are any special items you want to incorporate, please bring those. They add to the mood and can personalize your session.
